This morning, President Benigno S. Aquino III conferred the Quezon Service Cross on Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Jesse M. Robredo (posthumous) at Rizal Ceremonial Hall, Malacañan Palace.
The late Secretary’s wife, Leni, received the award. She was accompanied by daughters Aika, Tricia, and Jill.
The Quezon Service Cross was proposed by President Manuel Roxas in honor of President Manuel L. Quezon to serve as the highest honor of the Republic. It was created by virtue of Joint Resolution No. 4 s. 1946 enacted by both houses of Congress.
